Michel Herr is the long standing piano player with Toots Thielmans, and Riccardo del Fra was for many years the regular bass player in the group of legendary trumpeter Chet Baker. I had always wanted to make a trio recording with these great players. We got together the night before the recording session and rehearsed in a hotel room. The following morning we went into the studio and recorded the entire CD in one day. The acoustic instruments and the rapport between the trio create an intimate, relaxed yet intensely swinging atmosphere.
